Pinnawala


Pinnawala is a village in Kegalle District of Sri Lanka and is around 90 km from the Colombo, Pinnawala known internationally for its elephant orphanage. Established in 1975, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a sanctuary and breeding ground for elephants, especially those abandoned, injured, or orphaned in the wild. It aims to rehabilitate elephants and eventually release them back into their natural habitats when possible.
